Lindsay Stenzel

LCSW, Certified Synergetic Play Therapist

Hi, I’m Lindsay. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, specializing in supporting anxious and neurodivergent children and teens, especially those who are high-achieving, highly sensitive, and holding more inside than others can see.

If you’re here, you may be feeling confused, concerned, or even a little helpless.

Maybe your child seems “fine” on the outside, doing well in school and meeting expectations, but at home, it’s a different story. The meltdowns, the shutdowns, the overwhelm. It can feel like you’re parenting two different kids and trying to understand what’s really going on underneath it all.

You might notice they put a lot of pressure on themselves or internalize their feelings until everything comes out at once. You’re doing your best to support them, but something still doesn’t feel settled.

That’s where I come in.

My work is grounded in Synergetic Play Therapy and a neurodivergent-affirming approach. I’m not here to “fix” your child or make them fit into a mold. Instead, I help them understand their internal world, build regulation skills, and feel more confident being who they are, without needing to mask.

I look beyond behavior to what’s underneath. What shows up as perfectionism, withdrawal, or big emotions is often a nervous system working hard to cope. Through play, creativity, and connection, I help children safely express what they’ve been holding in and develop new ways to navigate stress, expectations, and relationships.

Sessions are relational and tailored to your child’s age. With older kids and teens, this may include conversation, creative expression, and identity-focused work.

I also work closely with you as the parent, helping you understand what your child’s behavior is communicating so you can respond with more clarity and confidence, especially during those hard after-school moments.

Families often share that things finally start to make sense. My goal is for both you and your child to feel seen, supported, and less alone.

Before private practice, I worked as a school-based therapist in Jeffco Public Schools, supporting children from preschool through middle school. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver with a concentration in Children & Youth, along with a certification in School Social Work.

Your child doesn’t have to keep holding it all in. And you don’t have to figure this out on your own.
