Lindsay Stenzel
LCSW, Certified Synergetic Play Therapist
Hi, I’m Lindsay — and I’m here to help your child build the emotional skills they need to thrive.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Synergetic Play Therapist with over 10 years of experience, I specialize in supporting children, preteens, adolescents (up to age 15), and families through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, traumatic stress, and major life transitions. I also work closely with children and families navigating aggression, high-conflict behaviors, low self-esteem, perfectionism, neurodivergence (including highly sensitive and twice-exceptional kids), grief, separation, and divorce.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Synergetic Play Therapy and informed by Polyvagal Theory, with an emphasis on viewing all behavior as meaningful communication. I believe in creating a safe, neurodiversity-affirming environment where children and teens can feel understood, build resilience, and reconnect with their authentic selves. I have a particular passion for supporting pre-teen and adolescent girls as they develop confidence, identity, and emotional awareness.
Before entering private practice, I worked as a school-based therapist in the Jeffco School District, supporting children from preschool through middle school. This experience allows me to collaborate closely with families and help navigate the school systems that impact a child’s day-to-day life.
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Denver, with a concentration in Children & Youth and a certificate in School Social Work. I am passionate about walking alongside families on their journey toward healing, connection, and lasting change. I look forward to meeting you and your child!
